Expressionist

Poems are things you write when you feel things too big to say, and things too big to feel. Everything here is my own work, picked up from flashes and memories and small remarks that stayed with me. I hope you find something that stays with you

snap

Blades of grass don’t break,
they bend
They adapt and adjust
To the howling winds

Their unwavering trust
In the roots that hold them home

Trees don’t bend,
they break
remaining rigid and cold
stupidly bold
But then they simply
snap

But trees are stronger
Thicker
Bigger

why do they snap

They don’t know when to ease up
To know when the world is against them
Work to the bone
Bend back too far
snap

Pride swallows them whole
They stay up, like a vise
Not knowing the price
But the wind only blows harder
The rain smashes down stronger
But then they simply
snap

snap
